trust comes so easily to some while it seems next to impossible for others. what is it that makes that happen? is it a difference in personality alone that makes some people trust and others not trust? is it experience or exposure? or maybe its choice. how are we able to trust a complete stranger and sometimes not able to trust a close friend?
i tend to trust people easily, probably too easily. its like i start out trusting and only when someone breaks the trust do i not trust them any longer - once this happens it is hard to get back. i guess its positive way of looking at people, trust and relationships but this way of thinking does have a strong potential of getting me hurt. i mean, as of yet i haven't been overly traumatized by trusting easily. people in my life, people i have been exposed to in these 24.5 years on earth are mostly amazing.. sure there are a few sketchy ones that i probably shouldn't have trusted but they probably didn't matter enough to hurt me anyways. i can't imagine being skeptical of everyone i meet.. wondering why they want to know what they inquiry about me and whether the information, if told to them, will come back and bite me in the butt. i think that would stress out even more then my crazy brain already stresses if i was skeptical of trusting people in my life. although i am was over analytical, breaking everything people say and do into a zillion pieces to figure out what they are actually trying to convey, i do trust easily. maybe trusting easily is like a form of self destruction, a potential disappointment in society or a naivety of life - but it is what i do and its worked out for me so far.

pro procrastinator
i should be studying but im just an extremely good procrastinator.
my weekend that i had planned to be filled with nothing but studying turned out to involve a few more things..
saturday: i went to see women in black with a friend - good movie if you like movies that really make you jump out of your seat. it had daniel radcliffe in it and i have to admit it was a little strange seeing him in a role other than harry potter
sunday: i woke up to guinness howling around 6:30 am (not cool!), started to study way too early then i took him for a walk and to petsmart to get some new food.. the lady at petsmart was surprised this was the first time id heard him howling since he is part hound (cocker spaniel).. oh great.. then i went over to terry's house.. he was making dinner! he made salmon and salad! i love that he can cook!
monday: studied here at the house with my sister.. but took a few chat breaks and a movie break.. we watched the kings speech.. i like it.. good movie.
despite my breaks.. i actually did get a fair amount of studying done :)

my valentines day
i have some advice.. when in a new relationship, dont go valentines day card shopping last minute. real dilemma there. ive never spent so long looking for a card for someone. there are some limitations when you are in a new relationship.. you can't get a card that says - love, i love you, or you are my forever and always.. but you also cant get a card meant for a friend.. anything saying - i wish you a special valentines day, hope your day is fabulous or happy valentines day to a good friend. stay away from that! but of course, these were the only kind of cards left when you are last minute shopping (4 hours before your boyfriend is picking you up for dinner).
initially i had full intentions of making a card.. especially after reading sam's DIY valentine's day cards.. she had some adorable ideas. i also had intentions of making some red velvet cupcakes (what can be more valentines day appropriate?!) and some cookies. soo anyways, both these ideas flopped. i had so much work to do with school this past week i just had no time..
after going to hallmark and looking around for 25 minutes, i gave up and went over to carlton cards.. spent another 10 minutes there until i finally found an acceptable one.. yay! then i decided to get him some chocolates.. who doesn't like chocolate!
i knew terry was taking me out for dinner and i needed to dress up but he refused to tell me where he was taking me. i settled on wearing a simple black dress, some patent heels and my hair half up.. i know.. i lacked red but i dont own a red dress..
he ended up taking me to a bistro/wine bar which was absolutely amazing.. valentines day fixed price menu consisting of appetizers, main dish and dessert.. mmm chocolate cake.. perfect! i loved it!

i bowl with bumpers
have i ever mentioned im horrible at bowling? unless there is bumpers. i like bumpers, except for the staff often think we are waiting for some 5 year old to bowl with us and thats why we have requested the bumpers. bumpers basically defeat the need for talent in bowling. they cover the gutter to prevent gutter balls and allows the bowling ball to always hit at least one pin (usually more). anyways, yesterday i went bowling for my friends 24th birthday. heres proof of my lack of bowling ability:
starbucks - yup thats me.
lisa gave us each a nickname.
ps: the game only had 10 bowls each, this was the score in the 9th.
slightly embarrassing.. next time we should mini put :)

poetry
i was thinking today about great writers. not necessarily famous writers - well known or legendary - i mean people who write letters, emails, notes and blogs so beautifully. these people are intellectual, they think, they are smart. words are powerful and im just beginning to fathom this fact. i've always enjoyed reading books and academic literature but my love of reading came more from the love of the story. a love for the place the author was taking me and guiding my thoughts, a love for the knowledge i was gaining from the information i was reading. only recently have realized i love words and the messages the words on a paper are relaying to me. i have more of an appreciation for how creatively and artistically writers put words together.
today i went to the bookstore. i went to get my coffee and walked around the bookstore for a while. i ended up in the poetry section. poetry, really? ive never ventured to that section of the bookstore before. i spent about 30 minutes in the section, pulling out a few books and reading a poem or two from a few writers. poetry is one of those things ive never really appreciated very much and its probably for the reason i just mentioned above. i decided i want to read some poetry. see if i am able to appreciate it. e.e cummings, dylan thomas anyone?
