cause its a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to do

ill tell you what i did this weekend. its interesting i promise.  i went to/planned a bachelorette party.i have never been to a bachelorette party and i was forced to plan one. okay i wasn't forced it was more like i was totally willing since she is one of my best friends. katelyn (one of the bridesmaids) and i got together and discussed what a tia approved bachelorette party would consist of. we figured casino, bar, girly drinks, games and junk food. tia had mentioned niagara falls before so we decided to look into hotels there. my job was to find and book a hotel, buy the alcohol, think of girly drinks, pick up the cupcakes and drink glasses and bring the bride-to-be to the hotel. the other girls were responsible for decorations music and food and snacks!
i was running around like a crazy person trying to get everything done! my dad helped me find the perfect hotel via trip advisor (this website makes it soo easy all you have to do is type in a location, price range, any special requests such as a pool and how close you want it to be to certain things and click find). trip advisor found me a niagara falls marriot. perfect. it had a pool and was less than 0.5 km from the downtown casinos. after running around thursday, friday and saturday (around my work schedule) everything was coming together. last minute run around right before my work shift at 12-4 was so to go la senza and get some lingerie.. cause what kind of bachelorette party would it be without giving the bride lingerie..
after work i drove home to pick up everything i needed, filled up my dads car with gas and picked t up. we left around 5 and got to niagara falls around 5:45.. traffic was perfect! katelyn and danielle were already there decorating (i think they got there a few hours before tia and i). when t and i walked in the hotel room looked amazing!
 the cupcakes spelt out BRIDE
 engagement ring napkin rings
i def put one on my finger after and wore it most of the night
bad picture.. the sun kept ruining pictures
we also definitely jumped on the beds
can't see but there is little decorative hearts scattered on the bed and floor

our little bar - juice was in the fridge
after we got there we went swimming, ate, took turns showering and got ready.. we played drinking how-well-do-you-know-the-groom game (we had asked the groom questions and tia had to answer them; if she answered them correctly we drink if she answers them incorrectly she drinks) she knew him pretty well and we had to drink most of the time.. we made some drinks.. got tia to open presents.. most lingerie but one bag had a veil, a white shirt with BRIDE written on it and a pink sash she had to wear the rest of the night
after presents we were off to the casino in which you get yelled at when you try to take pictures in.. so no casino pictures. i lost $10 which kinda sucked. we went to the bar, walked around the city for a bit and ended up going on the giant ferris wheel at like 2 am (the friggen thing costed $11 per person and in my opinion totally not worth it)

on the ferris wheel -the guy taking the picture kind of cut me off
around 3am i was hungry and complaining nothing was open except for some reason tgi fridays which is open like 24 hours or something.. so i ended up getting a chicken caesar salad and tia got some quesidilla's (i know its not good to eat that late but we were hungry).. we brought the food back to the hotel ate and pretty much all crashed.. ohh and me of course wakes up at 8:30am.. stupid sleep wake schedule of mine only allowing me to sleep 4 hours.
it was a successful bachelorette party and i think it was planned pretty well! yay!! we all had fun.. and two things i realized..
- when friends get married life gets expensive! (seriously.. i spent more money for this wedding with dresses and shoes and presents and decorations and drinks and food and hotel then i have spent on my self in months.. everything adds up! im not complaining.. im having soo much fun im just saying)
- there must be some law that when men see a bachelorette party walking around to say dont do it!!! i swear every single group of guys we passed would yell dont do it at tia.. or they would question why?

more picture will be posted here soon enough (i wasn't the only one with the camera so i need to get the other pictures)

just a list of the things i need to do

i just got off work from a 9 hour shift and look at this list of things i need to do this weekend

- pay off my credit card so i can pay for the hotel for tomorrow
- clean house before my parents get home
- recharge camera battery
- get lens protector for my nikon so i can safely bring it to the wedding and take some photos
- get silver shoes for the wedding next saturday
- get my dress fixed at the tailor (its too big!)
- print out or find street locations of the hotel to give people directions
- put a cheque in the bank
- make a hair/nail and possibly makeup appointment
- get a wedding gift! ahh i better get on that (tia and brandon are getting married in 8 days!)
- write i speech for the wedding

there is so much to do for the up coming wedding. im extremely excited but totally overwhelmed! im sure there is more i have to do but i can't think of it currently.
now i think im going to start with going to the cupcake place and purchasing some of the delicious cupcakes.. i think i should get vanilla and chocolate (id choose red velvet but i know tia wouldn't) and probably next i should start cleaning.
happy friday!

awkward and awesome

awkward
- going to quebec with an adorable puppy (everyone wants to talk to you) and having to say je parle anglais (i speak english) and the french not being able to understand what im saying because of how poor my french is
- at work we have to ask people their phone number and name to start a customer database for them.. when i asked one customer his number he says "shhhh.. not with my wife is here"  what?! im asking for the company not for my self.. and if i was asking for my self would you give it if your wife was not there? not cool
- my dog on a leash.. just plain awkward since he doesn't walk properly on it
- taking guinness out in my pj boxers at the hotel at 5am and again at 7am and seeing the same kitchen worker out for a smoke and both times he starts speaking to me in french

awesome
- finding out that north face is carrying the jacket i want again this year!.. i didn't get it last year and i heard it wasn't coming back this year but it did! i can't wait to get it
- walking up a hill with my family and my sister points out that walking backwards up the hill works entirely different muscles.. so my family and i walking backwards up the hill as golfers in carts pass us.. awesome!
- blogs
- my puppy winks at people.. like seductively, no lie
- spiked guinness's hair.. yup making him look a bit more poodle

in the belly of the beast

our roadtrip to quebec was nice and relaxing which is exactly what i think we all needed but i do want to clarify something. travelling with a dog is not necessarily ideal. as much as i love guinness and was not going to leave him in a kennel, i was prepared to stay home with him while my family went on vacation. my dad, shocking as it may seem, insisted that guinness and i go on the trip too (he wanted it to be the whole family). he found hotels that accommodated animals and even called to make sure. he found out that there were two rules. one the dog could not be left in the room alone at any point even in a crate and two we were to pay for any damages if the animal were to damage anything. since it was a roadtrip, we risked having to stop every few minutes for puppy bathroom false alarms, also we would not all be able to go out for dinner together, no museums, galleries etc.
so throughout the car ride guinness amazed us all. he slept most of it. in the hotel he amazed us and on the hikes he further impressed. the only thing that somewhat swayed in between sucking and cool is that i (my dog, my responsibility) missed out on dinners at restaurants. i love food and i love going out for dinner at nice and different restaurants so it kind of sucked to have to stay back at the room with guinness while my sisters and parents were out for a nice dinner or lunch. the cool or less sucky thing about it is i got to hang out with guinness for some quiet me (or me and guinness) time ohh and order room service.
room service for me - kibble for guinness
me awkward face.. him adorable face
good boy!

i wish the world was flat like the old days

pretty much each year in august my family and i go on a roadtrip somewhere. weve been to boston, philadelphia, maine, ohio, washington dc, pittsburgh and more then once chicago. chicago is probably my favourite and we were supposed to go this year but we ended up leaving it too late and all hotels were booked. plus its harder to find hotels that will allow my puppy in chicago. so this year we decided to stay in canada (guinness can't cross the canadian/usa boarder yet because he had his shots too close before). we drove to a place called la malbaie quebec and stayed in a fairmont: la manoir richelieu. it was the perfect place. 10 hours drive, pet friendly, rooms available, resort like (lots to do).. there was a bunch of hiking trails two of which we did. one was a 6km dirt trail (it said it was beginner but i swear it was advanced) and the other hike we did was up the mountain to a golf club house. we stayed at the hotel three nights. it actually was amazing how well guinness did.. i mean, hes only 3.5 months old and he walked with us on our hikes, never had an accident, got along with other dogs and people. oh and he also didn't make us stop every twenty minutes on the way there.. he barked at the car door or got obviously restless when he needed to go out and we let him out.

 our hotel front
 hotel grounds

the view from the hotel was beautiful
we drove up to a little town and found a beach

guinness posed well for the camera
handsome boy with his new red harness and leather leash
view from golf clubhouse on mountain
wow notice the difference in picture quality (this one with my sony point and shoot,
others with my nikon)

video (dont mind the wind in the background)

at the top we got tea (my sisters and i) and beer (parents)

camera check
clothing check
ipod check
gas in car check

i think we got it all

i need a break from work. ive worked 42 hours this past week, 39 last week. i haven't had time to read, hang out with guinness or sit outside and relax for more than 20 minutes. we are going to quebec just for a few days. staying at a pet friendly hotel. driving. packing picnic lunches and bringing two or more books each. bringing bathing suits, cameras, jean jackets and summer dresses. im excited. much needed vacation. i mean its no chicago (where we were going to go before i decided to get a dog) but i enjoy quebec too.
so im off in 6 hours

have an amazing weekend!

awkward and awesome

awkward
- hanging out with a male friend and he calls you his girlfriends name.. umm i kind of pretended i didn't hear
- while walking around downtown i almost get hit by a bird .. literally having to move out of its direction of flight before it hit me and after i jump out of the way a random man makes a comment like "scary aren't they".. yes they are! did you not see that bird almost attack me
- planning a bachelorette party - awkward because suggested bachelorette games are awkward
- when you are out for dinner/coffee with someone and the waitress/waiter asks if the bill is separate or together and you dont know
- asking someone for the money they owe you (i mean do i just bring it up or give the person the receipt and hope they get the point)

- large birds freak me out, i dont like them and i think they hate me back
- i hate talking on the phone, its awkward, id rather just hang out/text/bbm
- when im hungry i get mean.. like really bitter.. if im in a bad mood im probably hungry
- i like chubby things.. i think chubby is cute.
- i can't open a banana
- i still have to find out which hand makes the 'L' shape to tell what direction is left and which is right
- i dont see a point in buying things like low-fat cream cheese or salad dressings.. these foods are meant to be flavourful and fat is flavour.. and honestly, who makes baked goods with margarine
- im a hypochondriac
- e.t.. as in 'e.t go home' the character from that movie freaks me out like nothing else
- the tiffany heart i wear around my neck is from my parents
- i have no patience for people who hate their life and think it is the way it is and they cant do anything about it.. actually its your life and your small actions change everything
- i take kids gummy bear multi vitamins.. i can't swallow the adult ones
- i miss having braces
- im currently listening to marching bands of manhattan (death cab for cutie) and its been on repeat for the past hour.. when i love a song its on repeat for a few days..

put them drinks up

oh just a weekend post.
saturday: i was feeling a bit artsy. ive probably mentioned it before but im in love with etsy. i love the jewelry, love the bags, love the headbands. i wish i could be that creative but i usually fail miserably. id love to buy so much from that site but i cant afford that so i thought maybe i'll try and make my own. i decided to hit up michael's craft store for some inspirations. nothing interesting but i just got a leather strap and a piece of metal with 'live life' engraved on it.. i kinda like it. the rest of saturday i worked and then at night i went out for some drinks with friends.

  whiskey sours
my bracelet :) and drink
sunday: james and i were going to see kesha in concert but thought it would be more fun to get to toronto around 2 and walk around the city before the 9:30 concert. i love toronto ive said many times. we went to the eatons centre, went to a few bookstores (me) and record stores (james). we walked around areas ive never been before, i liked the u of t campus. we went to pickle barrel for dinner (i had never been there before) and i almost got attacked by a bird, it was freaky and not at all cool.
kesha was cool and all but the atmosphere was ridiculous
people jumping up and down, glitter and feathers everywhere
my kesha attire was not at par
these ripped jeans were the extent to my kesha-ness
i think it was more of a show then a concert.. she talked a lot and there was a lot of flashing lights with a lack of singing.. she missed many of her songs and most of those she missed are the ones i like.. it was fun though and it didn't rain even though they called for it.
